Westwood Station Project Suspended
According to an article in the Boston Business Journal, the Westwood Station project has now been suspended until at least September. The project is not dead, but lack of financing means development is in a holding pattern for now. Retailers have not backed out of lease commitments, but, like much of the economy today, everyone is waiting for things to improve before committing to anything new.

Westwood Station
Westwood Station was just to big to start with. What does this mean for the tax base of Westwood. I believe this year we lost out on 2.8 million dollars from the Westwood Station project. For the 2010 budget are we going to see any revenue?
I think most residents in the town are in favor of Westwood Station. What many residents have raised concerns on is the size of Westwood Station. This in my opinion has been the down fall of Westwood Station from the start.
The Selectman need to start addressing the town what is going on when it comes to Westwood Station. It would be great to have someone challenge Nancy Hyde for Selectman because this has been her pet project. I don't see Nancy keeping the residents up to date when it comes to the Largest Mixed Use project in the country. I would like to see a resident challage Nancy because I don't beleive she has been transparant to the residents on what is really going on with the Station project. Right now without funding Westwood Station is a train that's just parked in the Station and no one really knows how long or if it will start back up.
Thank you for a free press
Thank God for the press, how else would Westwood residents get accurate information. This is exactly what the NStar letter alluded to several months ago and that was vehemently denied by the developer and town officials. I'll have to make sure to read the Boston Business Journal before town meeting in the spring.
