I'm Moving to Roslindale

Almost three years ago when I started Westwood Blog, I was new in town and hoped to better connect with the community by writing about it and encouraging discussion. I learned Westwood is a great town and I got to know many people--not just online but in person. The blog gave me a way to participate outside of the traditional meetings and events. My interest led to greater involvement and then I was doing the meetings too--starting the Pedestrian and Bicycle committee and becoming a founding board member of WestCAT.

So it was not an easy or light decision when my wife and I decided to buy a house in Roslindale. The first thing many people ask me now is "what will become of Westwood Blog?"

I'd like to keep it going, but I need help. We have plenty of news sites that cover Westwood now, but I think what is valuable about a site like Westwood Blog is that it can provide a way for residents to share what they are doing--not just report on news stories. I would love to see articles from people in town who are active in making this a great community, and I will be happy to help anyone who is interested become a contributor. I will post meetings and events when people send them to me. I'd like to stay in touch with the community and build connections and bridges between the common interests of residents--many of whom grew up in Roslindale, West Roxbury, or Dedham before moving to Westwood. I will probably create something in Rozzie--stay tuned. We're less than 6 miles away.
