Community Access TV
Currently, Comcast broadcasts the following public meetings on channel 8:
- Board of Selectmen, Tue, 8pm
- School Committee, Wed, 8pm
There is no Verizon channel yet. A non-profit corporation, WestCAT, has been formed and is currently researching locations for setting up a local broadcast facility.

Comcast rates increase again - Franchise Cost increases $1.31
Don't know if anyone else noticed but Comcast's rates once again increased - with nearly no notice to its customers. The bill dated 4/17 (arriving 4/22) announced a price increase effective 4/24/10. A whole two days notice. Anyway, included in this announcement is the fact that the Franchise Related Cost is increasing $1.31. When I asked Comcast about the fee, they said "it's a rate the town requests."
Could someone please tell us what our town gets for this fee? Is it funding WestCAT?
Two town meetings a week hardly seems equal to getting nearly $5 from every subscriber. Thanks.

My cable channel 8 is blank as usual. Will any of these important meetings on Westwood Station be broadcast? Perhaps it is time to "sub out" Westwood cable? Let's pay Dedham a monthly fee to manage our cable channel 8.
