Twelve-year-old Jason Kraft has organized a walk to benefit Project Bread as a part of Mitzvah Day at Temple Beth David of Westwood. Like its cousin, the 20 mile Walk for Hunger in Boston, the 2.6 mile mini walk will be held on Sunday, May 4. "Many people want to participate in the Walk for Hunger, but either they do not have the time or they are unable to walk the entire distance. This gives them a chance to participate at a smaller level," says Jason.

Mitzvah Day at the Temple is an annual event where congregants participate in Tikun Olam – healing the world. Temple members work on several charitable and community service projects around the area. For Jason, this is a particularly special event since it is a part of his preparation for becoming a Bar Mitzvah, the celebration for when a child becomes 13 years old and is accepted into the congregation.
