Westwood Board of Health sharps collection program
Westwood residents may obtain approved sharps containers free of charge during business hours at the Board of Health Office, Town Hall, or the Senior Center. Sharps must be placed in this approved container for proper disposal. Needles, lancets, and syringes are all considered sharps.

Sen. Rush: Senate OKs Valor Act to help veterans
The Massachusetts Senate on Thursday unanimously passed “The Valor Act” – new legislation that will expand benefits and increase access to a range of services for veterans, active-duty military and their families, state Sen. Mike Rush, D-West Roxbury, announced in a press release.

New wireless district fails, Stretch Code passes, at Westwood Town Meeting
A new building code calling for more energy-efficient construction met with approval, while a proposal for expanding the wireless district failed to get the necessary two-thirds votes.
Article 31 sought to amend the town’s zoning bylaws to establish two separate Wireless Communications Overlay Districts (WCOD) in Westwood, allowing for the construction of wireless facilities on specified parcels of land.
